Today is Black Family Census Day!
As we prepare our tables at home in remembrance of those that gave their lives in service to our country, let us do our part to be sure our Brooklyn Community is counted.
Less than 50% of our HTC (Hard to Count) neighborhoods of Bedford Stuyvesant, Crown Heights, Flatbush, East New York or Canarsie have completed the 2020 census. Let’s make sure all of our family members that gather for a plate are also counted. More than anything COVID-19 has shown us the disparities in relation to communities of color. We need every service that will assist to serve our needs in the near future. Fill out your questionaire today at www.census.gov
In addition to the census on June 23 all voters will be allowed to vote absentee. All registered voters will receive an absentee ballot application by mail with a paid-postage return envelope. You can request a ballot online at www.nycabsentee.com
Being counted as well registering to vote helps us to begin filling the needs of our community. So if you haven’t done so go to www.census.gov to complete your 10 questions in 10 minutes today. Register to vote at www.vote.gov. Request an absentee ballot at absenteeballot.com and let your vote count on June 23. When we are full of resources then our cups will be running over and we will not be without.
