The Brooklyn NAACP Education Committee Presents: The “Take Action” Series!
Join us for a three-part series as we learn how to "TAKE ACTION" and advocate for the needs of Brooklyn students and their families. We’ll have several panels and community discussions on the topics listed below as well a direct action to follow each event!
Part I: Parental/Familial engagement and involvement in our children's education Thursday, March 24th at 6pm. Register here.
Part II: School governance, mayoral control, FY 2023 Budget
Tuesday, March 29th at 7pm. Register here.
Part III: Educational Rights Transparency for New York Families
Thursday, March 31st at 6pm. Register here.
Our panelists include Naila Rosario, Government Relations & Advocacy Manager of Brooklyn Public Library, NeQuan McLean, President of Community Education Council 16/Bed-Stuy, Tesa Wilson, Brooklyn Parent & Community Liaison of United Federation of Teacher (UFT), Educational Rights Transparency Coalition and other guest speakers.
Each event will include a panel discussion, community Q&A, and an actionable/advocacy step - such as showing support for the Ed Rights Transparency for NY Families Bill via social media.
Come learn and discuss how the budget, mayoral control and understanding your educational rights can affect YOU, the student and YOU the parent and family supporting that student. See you there!
